2024/07/09 Cars

“The JAC S3 sells very well here. We primarily use equipment from China in our factory, and these devices are of high quality, fully meeting our requirements," said Janis Tukachi, Director of Assembly Technology Workshop at Arul Automobile Group, in a recent interview.

In July 2024, China and Kazakhstan issued a "Joint Declaration," coinciding with the onset of a new "Golden Thirty Years" for Sino-Kazakh relations. Chinese automotive brands, led by JAC, have actively promoted their overseas ventures to integrate into Kazakhstan's industrial and value chains. This vividly showcases the deep integration of the Chinese automotive industry with Kazakhstan's industrial transformation and development.

In 2019, JAC, in conjunction with General Motors China Vehicle Import and Export Co., Ltd., acquired Kazakhstan's Allur Automotive Industry Group. This joint acquisition pioneered a collaborative production model termed "Central Enterprise Coordination Platform for Environmental Construction + Local Enterprise-led Core Technology in Industry." This acquisition marked China's first automotive industry cooperation project in Central Asia and was included in the list of key projects for capacity cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.

After restructuring, Arul Automotive Industry Group's production capacity and market share have steadily increased, making it the sole automotive enterprise in Kazakhstan with qualifications for manufacturing both passenger and commercial vehicles. It possesses complete knock-down (CKD) assembly capabilities and is the largest automotive production and assembly company in Kazakhstan.

On July 5th, JAC released its production and sales report. The announcement revealed that in June 2024, JAC sold 32,900 vehicles, with a cumulative sales figure for the first half of the year reaching 206,200 vehicles. Notably, sales of new energy passenger vehicles saw a year-on-year increase of 15.28%. In Kazakhstan, exports from JAC in the first half of 2024 surged by 105% compared to the previous year.

Since 1990, JAC has exported vehicles to over 132 countries and regions worldwide, delivering more than 1.4 million vehicles.

Currently, JAC has exported over 800,000 vehicles to 124 countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. In the first half of 2024, exports to Belt and Road Initiative countries accounted for 85% of its total export volume.

From the "people's car" in Kazakhstan to Mexico, where "6 out of 10 electric cars are from JAC", and from the busy streets of high-end markets in Europe such as Italy and Austria, JAC's impressive presence is felt. In the UAE, JAC has achieved new breakthroughs in the market of tens of thousands of vehicles. JAC continues to expand its circle of friends in the Belt and Road Initiative, showcasing JAC to the world and promoting greater global awareness of China.

In Vietnam, Malaysia, and beyond, JAC has established overseas subsidiaries. In Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Myanmar, Laos, and other countries, the group is actively embracing the global trend towards the development of electric vehicles by introducing electric cars to these markets.

In late June, the World Brand Lab released its 2024 analysis report on "China's Top 500 Most Valuable Brands." JAC once again topped the list with a brand value of 46.727 billion yuan, an increase of 3.796 billion yuan from 2023. Among Chinese automotive brands, it ranks sixth, advancing one place from the previous year.

As an automotive brand, JAC has consistently topped the list for four consecutive years. This year's ranking reaffirms the impressive global market performance and the continually strengthening brand momentum of JAC.
