Recently, BAIC Group released its mid-year performance report for 2024. From January to June, BAIC Group achieved a cumulative car sales of 771,000 units, marking a slight year-on-year decrease of 5.86%.Breaking down the figures, in the passenger vehicle segment, BAIC Group's domestic brand sales totaled 73,000 units, showing a moderate decline compared to the previous year. Notably, the ARCFOX brand saw a significant increase, selling 18,000 units in the first half of the year, which represents a substantial growth of 110.24%. Additionally, Beijing brand SUV sales reached 16,200 units, marking a 24.10% increase year-on-year. Meanwhile, the joint venture brand Beijing Benz achieved a milestone with cumulative production surpassing 5 million units, while Beijing Hyundai sold 100,000 units in the first half of the year.
Turning to commercial vehicles, BAIC Foton sold a total of 300,200 units in the first half of the year, including 20,000 units of new energy vehicles, showing a notable year-on-year growth of 22.44%. BAIC Heavy Truck also experienced a remarkable increase in sales volume, with a staggering 446.45% year-on-year growth.
In terms of exports, ARCFOX brand made significant advances by entering the European markets including Spain and Portugal, as well as expanding into Laos, Myanmar, and Latin America. Beijing brand vehicles continued their global expansion, exporting nearly 20,000 units in the first half of the year. Models such as BJ40 PLUS and MoFang debuted in Indonesia and Malaysia, while U5 PLUS, MoFang, and the new X7 were launched in Egypt. The first flagship Beijing Automotive showroom officially opened in Cairo, and BAIC brand secured the top spot in sales in Argentina.
On the commercial vehicle sector, BAIC Foton achieved mass deliveries of smart pickups in Italy and fully electric TRUCK MATE in Thailand. Meanwhile, BAIC Foton's dual-line products, both fuel and electric, were introduced in South Africa alongside the launch of the "Lighthouse Plan". Currently, BAIC Foton's new energy products are available in 45 countries and regions globally, covering Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South America.In terms of technology and new products, BAIC Group unveiled its electric off-road solution "Magic Core Electric Drive Super Drive Solution" at the Beijing Auto Show. The first product of this initiative, the "Plug-in Hybrid Light Wild Electric Four-Wheel Drive SUV" BJ30, was launched in May. BAIC ARCFOX introduced the Darwin 2.0 technology brand and the self-developed all-electric high-end flagship platform "Polaris Platform". Additionally, BAIC Group's collaboration with Huawei resulted in the debut of the "Panoramic Intelligent Flagship Sedan" Enjoy S9 at the Beijing Auto Show, expected to be launched in the second half of the year.
In the field of intelligent connected vehicles, BAIC Group was among the first batch of automotive companies to be selected for the "Intelligent Connected Vehicle Admission and Road Test Pilot Consortium" announced by four national departments.
