The company displayed the Auman Galaxy 9 heavy-duty truck, the View i electric van, and the AUV electric school bus at AsiaWorld-Expo. The four-day event serves as a platform for global exchange in the automotive and logistics industries, with Hong Kong positioned as a regional hub for finance and trade.
Foton’s exhibition theme, “Smart Change, New Journey,” reflected the company’s efforts in artificial intelligence, clean energy and intelligent manufacturing. The company said it aims to contribute to the global development of green logistics.
The Auman Galaxy 9 was the centerpiece of Foton’s display. The heavy-duty truck is powered by a Foton-Cummins A15 engine, delivering up to 680 horsepower and 3200Nm of torque. It meets Euro VI emission standards and is paired with a ZF 12-speed AMT transmission, which Foton says offers a transmission efficiency of 99.7%. The model includes a next-generation electrical architecture designed to support data-intensive features such as autonomous driving and intelligent cockpit systems.
For urban transport needs, Foton introduced the View i electric van, developed for last-mile delivery. The van uses a high-efficiency permanent magnet motor and supports ultra-fast charging with battery systems from either EVE Energy or CATL. It has a reported range of up to 460 kilometers and offers 7 to 9 cubic meters of cargo space. According to Foton, the van provides better energy efficiency than comparable models, enhancing cost-effectiveness for commercial operators.
The AUV electric school bus is designed to meet safety and environmental standards for student transport in dense urban environments. It features a low-floor design, visible safety signage, and interior materials chosen for health and safety. The zero-emissions vehicle includes driver-assistance and intelligent braking systems, aligned with public transport regulations in markets like Hong Kong.
Foton said participation in the expo helps strengthen its international presence. The company noted that Hong Kong plays a strategic role in its global expansion plans.
Foton currently operates in more than 130 countries and regions and has led China’s commercial vehicle exports for 14 consecutive years. The company’s latest showcase is part of its broader strategy to integrate intelligent technologies, accelerate the adoption of new energy vehicles, and expand its global service network.
The company said it is building localized systems for research, production and after-sales service in overseas markets as part of its goal to contribute to the international development of China’s commercial vehicle sector.
