From January to August 2025, China sold a cumulative total of 29,758 large and medium-sized new energy buses, a year-on-year increase of 38.84%. The cumulative year-on-year growth rate expanded by 1.03 percentage points compared to the first seven months of this year (37.81%), showing a continued positive trend.
In August 2025, China sold 4,902 large and medium-sized new energy buses, ranking second among the months from January to August this year (only lower than the sales volume in June). The analysis indicates that the main reasons for this growth are the combined efforts of demand, policy, and exports. In terms of demand, the peak summer tourism season, coupled with the release of rigid demand for public transportation, directly drove up the procurement volume of buses. On the policy front, the continuous implementation of subsidies for the renewal of new energy buses provided strong support for the replacement of existing vehicles. Regarding exports, the continuous expansion of overseas markets has become an important engine for industry growth. These factors collectively contributed to the overall sales volume of large and medium-sized new energy buses in China in August this year.
