In January 2026, 21 key enterprises engaged in new energy bus production and sales sold a total of 2,218 new energy buses, down 29.0% year-on-year.
BYD ranked first in sales, followed by Yutong, King Long, Zhongtong, and Higer to form the top five. The top 10 enterprises accounted for the core market share. Among them, at least five companies including BYD and Zhongtong achieved positive year-on-year growth, with Ankai showing strong momentum via a sharp sales increase.

BYD led the industry with 442 new energy buses sold in January, up 54.6% year-on-year, holding a market share of 19.9%. It delivered 124 pure electric buses to Chile (including 94 articulated and 30 double-decker models), marking strong progress in overseas markets.
Yutong ranked second with 268 units sold, representing a 12.1% market share.
King Long rose to third place with 260 units sold, up 0.4% year-on-year, with an 11.7% market share.
Zhongtong climbed to fourth with 245 units sold, up 43.3% year-on-year, holding 11.0% market share.
Higer (Suzhou Jinlong) took fifth place with 205 units sold and a 9.2% market share.
Chery Wanda moved up to eighth with sales up 11.5% year-on-year.
Sunwin entered the top 10 with a 2.7% market share.
Ankai delivered the most outstanding performance:
198 new energy buses sold in January, surging 167.6% year-on-year.
The sharp growth was driven by domestic tourism & passenger transport deliveries and an export order of 215 city buses to Mexico, demonstrating strong development resilience.
