Synland Debuts Native Electric RV Platform at AIC Show in Beijing

2026/05/09 Trucks
Synland, a wholly owned subsidiary of CATL will unveil its first native electric RV platform at the AIC China International RV Show, held from May 15 to May 17 at the Shougang Exhibition Center in Beijing, as the recreational vehicle industry shifts toward purpose-built electric architectures.

The company said the launch reflects a broader transition in the RV sector from retrofit-based designs toward native development platforms built from the ground up for electrification.

Shift from retrofit to native architecture

Traditionally, many RVs have been developed through conversions, such as fuel-to-electric upgrades or vehicle-to-living-space modifications, often resulting in fragmented system integration.

Synland’s new platform adopts a fully forward-developed electric architecture. The entire vehicle—including chassis, electric drivetrain, battery system, body structure, and intelligent systems—is designed as an integrated solution, eliminating the need for post-production modifications.

Built on CATL battery technology, the platform is designed to improve range, charging efficiency, safety, space utilization, and intelligent functions, positioning it as a benchmark for next-generation electric RVs.

Performance: efficiency and power

The vehicle features a skateboard chassis paired with a low-drag aerodynamic body, improving both energy efficiency and overall design.

The chassis adopts a double-wishbone front suspension and trailing-arm rear suspension to enhance driving stability and ride comfort. It is also equipped with advanced driver assistance systems to improve safety and usability.

Power comes from an all-wheel-drive system rated at 270 kW. With full fuel and full charge, combined fuel consumption is under 8L per 100 km. The platform supports multiple energy replenishment options, including range-extending generation (around 20 kWh per hour), 1500W solar charging, fast charging, campsite charging, and integrated solar-storage systems, enabling continuous operation for long-distance travel and camping use.

Interior layout and space efficiency

Thanks to the native electric architecture, interior space utilization is significantly improved.

Compared with traditional converted RVs, the layout is more structured, with clearly separated living, kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping areas. The design improves movement flow while balancing openness and functionality.

The vehicle is designed for multiple scenarios, including long family trips, outdoor exploration, and urban camping, offering a quieter, more spacious, and more comfortable mobile living environment.

The body uses a lightweight high-strength structure to improve safety while reducing energy consumption. The chassis also includes reserved integration space for components such as water tanks and supports customization based on user needs.

Safety and intelligent systems

On safety, the platform follows CATL’s battery safety standards, with a multi-layer protection system covering cell, module, and vehicle levels. It has passed extreme tests including compression, nail penetration, and water immersion.

The system is also optimized for extreme environments such as severe cold and high heat, ensuring stable performance across different climates. It addresses common limitations of traditional RVs, including reduced range and weak heating efficiency in low temperatures.

Strategic positioning: toward a native electric RV era

Synland, as a wholly owned subsidiary of CATL, focuses on applications in new energy commercial and special-purpose vehicles, including technology deployment, supply chain integration, and ecosystem development.

The launch marks a key step in extending CATL’s strategy of “electrification, intelligence, and ecosystem development” into the RV sector.

The company expects the industry to gradually move away from fuel-based and retrofit-based models toward a new phase centered on native electric design.

Beyond a vehicle: enabling a new lifestyle

Synland said the platform represents more than a product upgrade, describing it as a shift in how people travel—making mobility more flexible, long-distance travel easier, and mobile living more sustainable and comfortable.

The platform was showcased from May 15 to May 17 at the AIC China International RV Show, marking its first public global presentation and signaling a new stage in electric RV development.
