Angka-Tan Motor Launches Malaysia’s First Chinese AMT Light-Duty Truck
Built for last-mile delivery, the truck is equipped with a ZF six-speed automated manual transmission, making it easier to operate in stop-start traffic to reduce driver fatigue on long shifts. “Imagine you are in last-mile delivery, distributing goods or parcels, and you are stuck in a jam. With AMT, it is just like driving an automatic vehicle; it is not so tiring,” Aaron Chai Lee Hung, General Manager and Head of Sales at Angka-Tan Motor Sdn Bhd, told Truck & Bus News.
The truck’s power comes from a Cummins ISF3.8 four-cylinder turbodiesel producing 154 HP and 500 N·m of torque. With a GVW of 7,500 kg, the Aumark S Euro 5 AMT 6-wheeler achieves its Euro 5 compliance through an AdBlue SCR system.
The Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT 6-wheeler‘s safety equipment includes an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), anti-slip regulation, hill start assist, and a cab structure that meets ECE R29 standards. The price is set at RM128,800, with deliveries expected from around September or October 2026.
Malaysia’s Transport Minister, Anthony Loke, who officiated the opening ceremony, was also present at the launch. He stepped into the vehicle and pressed the horn to mark the occasion before writing down his signature on the truck’s front panels.
