A delivery ceremony for more than 100 units of 12-metre city buses manufactured by Foton AUV, a subsidiary of BAIC Foton, was held in Beijing on June 18, marking the bulk shipment to a South Asian market.

As a vital regional transportation hub, this South Asian territory has long suffered from insufficient transport capacity and aging public transit fleets, generating steady demand for vehicle renewal and replacement. Leveraging tailor-made complete vehicle solutions and one-stop, full-process delivery services, Foton AUV had already delivered a batch of buses to the region at an earlier stage, which earned positive operational feedback. This laid a solid foundation of trust for the subsequent repeat order and enabled large-scale localized deployment of Chinese bus brands in the local public transport sector.

Customized and systematically optimized for the region's unique operating conditions—including high temperatures, heavy rainfall, and complicated road conditions—the newly delivered buses feature multiple adaptive upgrades:

A reinforced integral body structure and high-strength steel rectangular tube frame to boost overall rigidity and structural durability;
Triple anti-corrosion treatment applied to exterior panels to improve weather resistance;
A powertrain combination of a diesel engine, AT automatic transmission, and integrated hydraulic retarder, paired with Foton e-AIR intelligent electronic thermal management system, which delivers strong power while cutting fuel consumption, vibration, and noise;
An EBS system equipped with a door-open braking function to add an extra safety margin for high-temperature operation;
An ADAS advanced driver-assistance system installed to support the intelligent transformation of local public transport networks.
Han Dong, President of the New Energy Bus Division at BAIC Foton AUV, stated at the ceremony that this order stands as a landmark project showcasing Foton AUV's long-term commitment to the South Asian market and serves as a testament to friendly bilateral cooperation in public transport. The company will ramp up investment in the region, offer full-lifecycle maintenance services, align closely with local road network construction and bus renewal plans, and expand collaboration across passenger transport, logistics, and other sectors to jointly build a sustainable transportation ecosystem.
Liu Guanghua, Vice President of Business at BAIC Foton Overseas Division, remarked that this is the largest single bus export order from China to the local market and a key milestone in the upgrade of the regional public transit system. Moving forward, BAIC Foton will deepen localized operations by stationing resident engineers on site and coordinating with local partners to guarantee sufficient spare parts supply, accelerating the intelligent and comfortable transformation of local public transport services.
Executives from the local transport authority, the municipal bus operator, and authorized distributors delivered speeches respectively. They spoke highly of the reliable performance of previously delivered vehicles and expressed expectations to expand cooperation across more transit routes and districts to jointly raise the standard of local public transport services.

This bulk delivery represents a phased achievement of Foton AUV's sustained efforts in South Asia. It also mirrors the comprehensive strengths of Chinese bus manufacturers in adaptive product development, stable supply chain support, and localized after-sales services. In the next phase, BAIC Foton AUV will keep refining its global industrial layout, advancing core vehicle technologies and product competitiveness, and strengthening industrial coordination with countries along the Belt and Road. By providing well-adapted Chinese transport solutions, the enterprise will fuel the global upgrading of public transit and drive high-quality overseas expansion of China's automotive industry.
