The order is part of a broader effort to support low-carbon logistics operations and accelerate the deployment of electric heavy trucks in border transportation corridors.
For the project, Beiben developed a dedicated battery-electric tractor tailored for cross-border freight applications. Based on its existing vehicle platform, the truck has been upgraded to meet the operational requirements of border ports and long-haul logistics routes, with a focus on improving transport efficiency and fleet productivity.
The vehicles will be deployed in cross-border coal transportation between China and Mongolia, providing a lower-emission alternative to conventional diesel-powered trucks. The project is expected to contribute to greener freight operations while supporting trade activities between the two countries.
Industry observers view the order as another sign of the increasing electrification of heavy-duty transport in northern China, particularly in logistics scenarios where fixed routes and predictable operating conditions make electric trucks more commercially viable.
Production of the first batch of 50 vehicles is already underway, with deliveries scheduled to begin by the end of July. The trucks will enter service shortly after deployment at the border logistics corridor.
Beiben said it plans to continue working with industry partners to develop products and service solutions for cross-border transport applications, supporting more efficient and sustainable logistics operations in the future.
