China Buses Export Reached 6,161 Units in May, Zhongtong Ranked 3rd

The latest statistics cover 21 representative Chinese bus manufacturers. In May 2026, exports of buses over 3.5 meters in length reached approximately 6,100 units, representing a slight year-on-year decline of 9.5% but a modest month-on-month increase of 4.8%. For the January–May period of 2026, total industry exports reached 33,000 units, posting a cumulative year-on-year rise of 17.1%.

From January to May 2026, major Chinese bus makers recorded total exports of 33,083 units, up 17.08% year on year, with the majority of manufacturers registering positive growth.

Major bus manufacturers shipped 6,161 units during the month, edging down 9.52% year on year yet rising 4.81% month on month, pointing to an improving trend amid fluctuating overseas orders.

Compared with last month's ranking, the top-five lineup among the "Two Tongs and Three Dragons" has been reshuffled:

King Long retained the monthly No. 1 position, with over 1,500 light buses exported in a single month.

Yutong Bus, which posted double-digit growth both year on year and month on month, rose to second place.

Zhongtong Bus recorded a month-on-month decline, to take third spot.

JMC Jingma and Ankai Bus led the industry in month-on-month growth, each advancing one place in the ranking.

Top 10 Bus Exporters (Jan–May 2026)

Yutong and Zhongtong climbed to second and third place respectively in the May export ranking, and each moved up one position in the cumulative export chart as well.

Yaxing, Ankai, and Chery Wanda saw a sharp surge in city bus exports in May, while Higer, Jiangling Jingma, and Foton AUV maintained robust growth in coach exports.
