Foton Motor, together with its local dealer, recently held a customer test drive event in Ghana to showcase two Auman tractor trucks and gather feedback from local operators.

The event combined static vehicle displays, on-road test drives, and customer discussions, giving participants the opportunity to evaluate the trucks under local operating conditions.

As demand for mining transport and cross-border logistics continues to grow in Ghana, fleet operators are placing greater emphasis on reliability, uptime, and operating efficiency. The event was designed to demonstrate how the trucks perform in these applications.

Both Auman tractor trucks featured at the event were built on the same platform and powered by Cummins engines. The main difference between the two models was the transmission, with one equipped with an automatic gearbox and the other with a manual transmission.

Customers drove both vehicles on the same route, allowing them to compare the two configurations directly. The automatic model offered a smoother driving experience with reduced driver workload, while the manual version was aimed at operators who prefer conventional gear shifting. Participants also evaluated the trucks' acceleration, gear changes, steering, and braking performance.

Following the test drives, Foton and its local dealer met with customers to discuss vehicle specifications, transport applications, payload requirements, fuel economy, maintenance, and spare parts support.

According to the company, the discussions provided valuable feedback on vehicle performance, reliability, and after-sales service. The information collected will be used to support future product development, vehicle specification planning, and service improvements.

Foton has continued to strengthen its presence in Ghana by expanding its local sales and after-sales network and offering products tailored to market requirements. The latest event also gave customers an opportunity to evaluate the Auman trucks in real operating conditions.
