According to heavy-duty truck operating license data, which excludes exports and military vehicles, 25,000 new energy tractor trucks entered operation in June. Sales(based on operating license data) rose 31% from May and 97% from the same month in 2025. The market added nearly 6,000 units compared with the previous month and approximately 12,700 units year on year.
Despite the strong performance, the tractor truck segment's 97% year-on-year growth trailed the overall new energy heavy-duty truck market by 10 percentage points, as the broader market expanded by 107%.
XCMG Holds No. 1 Position
China's New Energy Tractor Truck Operating License Sales (June & January–June 2026)

A total of 16 manufacturers sold more than 100 new energy tractor trucks in June. Twelve exceeded 400 units, while nine delivered more than 1,000 units. A minimum of 470 units was required to rank among the month's top 10 manufacturers.
XCMG remained the market leader with 3,896 units.
SANY ranked second with 3,610 units, just 36 units ahead of FAW TRUCKS, which sold 3,574 units.
Sinotruk followed in fourth place with 3,105 units, while Dongfeng ranked fifth with 2,015 units.
Foton,SHACMAN and Farizon placed sixth through eighth with sales of 1,992, 1,585 and 1,569 units, respectively.
C&C TRUCK and Yutong completed the top 10 with 1,007 units and 470 units.
All leading manufacturers posted year-on-year sales growth in June.
C&C Truck recorded the strongest increase at 336%. Sinotruk, Dongfeng, Farizon and XCMG also more than doubled their June sales, with growth rates of 166%, 128%, 121% and 123%, respectively.
SANY reported 94% year-on-year growth, while FAW TRUCKS, Foton, SHACMAN and Yutong all recorded double-digit increases.
The top 10 manufacturers accounted for 91.4% of the June market.
XCMG led with a 15.6% market share, followed by SANY at 14.5%, FAW TRUCKS at 14.3% and Sinotruk at 12.4%.
Dongfeng and Foton held 8.1% and 8.0% of the market, respectively. SHACMAN and Farizon each accounted for 6.3%, while C&C Truck and Yutong held 4.0% and 1.9%.

First-Half Sales Top 95,700 Units
From January to June 2026, cumulative sales of new energy tractor trucks reached 95,700 units, representing year-on-year growth of 78%. The growth rate was six percentage points higher than the 72% recorded after the first five months.
Fourteen manufacturers sold more than 1,000 units during the first half of the year, while 2,900 units were required to enter the industry's top 10.
XCMG, SANY, FAW TRUCKS and Sinotruk remained the top four manufacturers by sales, with cumulative sales of 14,000, 13,700, 13,600 and 13,000 units, respectively.
Foton, Dongfeng and SHACMAN ranked fifth through seventh with 7,896, 6,875 and 6,655 units.
Farizon, C&C Truck and DeepWay ranked eighth through tenth with cumulative sales of 4,666, 3,309 and 2,931 units.
All leading manufacturers achieved double-digit growth during the first half of the year.
C&C Truck posted the fastest growth, with sales rising 371% year on year.
Sinotruk, Dongfeng and XCMG recorded growth of 99%, 84% and 80%, respectively, outperforming the overall market growth rate of 78%.
SANY, FAW TRUCKS, Foton and Farizon each posted year-on-year growth of more than 50%.
The top 10 manufacturers accounted for 90.6% of total market sales during the first half of the year.
XCMG led with a 14.7% market share, followed closely by SANY at 14.3%, FAW TRUCKS at 14.2% and Sinotruk at 13.6%.
Foton, Dongfeng and SHACMAN accounted for 8.2%, 7.2% and 7.0%, respectively, while Farizon, C&C Truck and DeepWay held market shares of 4.9%, 3.5% and 3.1%.

Competition among the leading manufacturers remained tight. SANY and FAW TRUCKS were separated by just 43 units in cumulative sales during the first six months of the year.
Outlook
June marked the strongest month of 2026 for China's new energy tractor truck market, with sales reaching 25,000 units and increasing 97% from a year earlier.
As China's heavy-duty truck market enters its traditional seasonal slowdown, attention will focus on whether demand for new energy tractor trucks can maintain its current momentum and and how the rankings among leading manufacturers will evolve in the coming months.
