CHONGQING, July 10, 2026 – The 2026 EC-PAC New Energy Commercial Vehicle (Bus) Performance Evaluation Public Welfare Competition concluded today in Chongqing, with Ankai Bus emerging as a standout performer by clinching six gold medals. Under the theme “Smart Driving for New Journeys, Safe Rides for All Passengers,” the event brought together leading industry players for rigorous benchmarking. Leveraging deep technological expertise and proven product reliability, Ankai demonstrated its commanding position in the new energy bus sector.
Two flagship Ankai models delivered exceptional results. The Ankai N90E swept four gold medals in the 8.005–9 metre category—for driving range, power performance, energy efficiency, and all-round capability—and was the only vehicle in its class to receive the All-Round Capability Gold Medal. Meanwhile, the Ankai N71E earned two gold medals in the 6.9–8 metre category for passenger health experience and charging safety. These achievements underscore Ankai’s comprehensive strength and reflect authoritative recognition of its product quality and technological prowess, while validating the brand’s sustained commitment to new-energy innovation.

Launched in 2018, the EC-PAC competition has grown into a highly influential benchmark platform in China’s new energy commercial vehicle arena, renowned for its professionalism, impartiality, and authority. To date, it has attracted 89 manufacturers and over 120 models, tracking the industry’s evolution. Co-hosted by China Merchants Vehicle Test Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., the China Communications and Transportation Association, and the Chongqing High-Tech Industrial Development Zone Administrative Committee, this year’s event featured 17 mainstream domestic bus manufacturers and 26 premium new energy models, offering high reference value for the sector.

Compared with previous editions, this year’s evaluation framework was comprehensively upgraded to align with core industry priorities—low carbon, safety, and intelligent development. Assessments covered seven dimensions: energy efficiency, power performance, ride comfort, driving safety, in-cabin health, charging safety, and intelligent driving. For the first time, passenger health, charging safety, and intelligent driving were designated as key indicators, directly addressing pain points in public transit and passenger transport operations. The updated criteria closely mirror market demands and real-world operating scenarios, ensuring a true measure of vehicle performance.

A consistent top performer at EC-PAC, Ankai Bus has long treated the competition as a testing ground for continuous improvement. Through rigorous evaluation and peer benchmarking, Ankai refines product details, optimises technical systems, and enhances vehicle performance—consistently ranking high on the honours list and setting quality and technology benchmarks for the new energy bus industry. The six gold medals won this year are compelling evidence of Ankai’s research-driven, scenario-focused development and sustained innovation.

These outstanding results stem from more than a decade of dedicated effort in new energy mobility and embody the brand’s commitment to independent innovation and long-term growth. As one of China’s earliest entrants in the field, Ankai aligns its strategy with the national “Dual Carbon” goals, maintaining forward-looking investment in core technologies. Through continuous breakthroughs and industrial application, Ankai has built a mature, market-proven operational system spanning highway passenger transport, public transit, tourism, and group shuttle services.
This expertise is clearly reflected in its product lineup. The Ankai N90E, winner of the exclusive All-Round Capability Gold Medal in its category, was developed with targeted optimisations for mountain passenger transport. Tuned using road data from sixteen famous mountain routes and equipped with six exclusive design features for scenic-area operations, the N90E handles steep slopes and sharp bends with ease. Supported by precise three-electric-system calibration and full-range battery thermal management, it overcomes common industry challenges such as power attenuation and range reduction under complex conditions, delivering stable high performance across all scenarios.

Meanwhile, the N71E—tailored for business and official transport—focuses on elevating user experience. Responding to market demand for health, safety, and comfort, it incorporates eco-friendly interior materials and a full-space air purification system, alongside charging protection systems and multiple high-voltage safety technologies to build a comprehensive safety shield. These dual strengths in health protection and safety assurance earned the N71E its two competition awards.
The six gold medals represent authoritative industry endorsement of Ankai’s technological capabilities and product quality, as well as the brand’s commitment to driving upgrades in the transportation sector. Moving forward, Ankai Bus will continue to pursue its mission of advancing green mobility, with independent innovation as its core driver. Guided by market needs and user pain points, the company will keep developing premium vehicles and refining its technical systems to lead the new era of sustainable transport.
