China’s New Energy Mini Truck Sales Hit Record High in June 2026

China’s new energy mini truck market reached a record level in June 2026, driven by rising demand for electric commercial vehicles in urban logistics and delivery applications.China sold 17,800 new energy mini trucks in June 2026, up 65% year on year and 9% compared with May, according to market data.

(Note: In this article, “new energy mini trucks” refers to mini and light trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tons or below. The data is based on insurance registration figures and excludes exports.)

The market has maintained strong momentum since the beginning of 2026. Since March 2026, monthly sales of new energy mini trucks have remained above 10,000 units, with volumes continuing to increase month by month. Sales reached a new record of 17,800 units in June, surpassing the previous high of 16,700 units recorded in April 2025.

The rapid growth in recent months has been mainly driven by stronger policy support and the advantages of electric mini trucks in daily operations, including lower purchase and running costs, as well as easier access to urban delivery routes.

With vehicle replacement programs and rural new energy vehicle promotion policies being gradually implemented across China, the new energy mini truck market is expected to maintain strong growth momentum in the second half of 2026.

The growth has been supported by favorable policies, including vehicle replacement programs and rural new energy vehicle promotion initiatives. These measures have further improved the advantages of electric mini trucks in terms of purchase costs, operating expenses and access to urban delivery routes.

During the first half of 2026, China’s new energy mini truck sales reached 70,000 units, up 15% year on year, with sales increasing by more than 9,100 units compared with the same period last year.

Battery Electric Trucks Dominate Market

Battery electric models continue to lead China’s new energy mini truck market.

From January to June 2026, battery electric vehicles accounted for 98.39% of total new energy mini truck sales.

Hybrid models recorded 1,131 units during the period, while fuel cell mini trucks recorded no sales, showing the current dominance of battery electric technology in this segment.

Farizon Leads June Sales as Maxus and LINXYS Deliver Strong Growth

In June 2026, 16 companies recorded sales of more than 100 new energy mini trucks, while five companies exceeded 1,000 units. The sales threshold for entering the monthly top 10 was 390 units.

Geely Farizon ranked first with 4,680 units sold, maintaining its leading position in the market.

Karry and LINXYS ranked second and third, with sales of 2,766 units and 2,155 units, respectively.

Other top 10 brands included:

Foton: 1,718 units

Changan: 1,038 units

RICH: 958 units

Shandong REACH: 937 units

Maxus: 738 units

BYD: 596 units

SHINERAY: 392 units

Compared with June 2025, LINXYS, RICH, Shandong REACH and Maxus recorded significant growth, with sales increasing 337%, 330%, 145% and 1,242% year on year, respectively.

Maxus achieved the strongest growth rate, with sales increasing more than 12 times compared with the previous year.

Farizon also outperformed the overall market, with sales rising 68% year on year. BYD saw strong growth as well, supported by a low comparison base in the previous year.

Top 10 Companies Hold Nearly 90% Market Share

China’s new energy mini truck market remained highly concentrated in June 2026.

The top 10 companies accounted for 89.8% of total market sales.

Farizon, Karry and LINXYS ranked the top three, with market shares of:

Farizon: 26.3%

Karry: 15.5%

LINXYS: 12.1%

Foton ranked fourth with a 9.7% market share, while other major brands held shares ranging from 2.2% to 5.8%.

First-Half Sales Increase 15% as Several Brands Expand Rapidly

In the first six months of 2026, China’s new energy mini truck market recorded 70,000 units in sales, up 15% year on year.

Several brands achieved strong growth during the period:

Shandong REACH: +144%

BYD: +11,218%

Wuling: +178%

Maxus: +309%

Farizon, Foton, LINXYS and Changan also recorded double-digit growth, outperforming the overall market expansion rate.

Farizon Maintains Market Leadership in First Half of 2026

During the first half of 2026, the top 10 companies accounted for 88.2% of total market sales.

Farizon continued to lead the market with:

Farizon: 18,500 units, 26.4% market share

Karry: 9,935 units, 14.2% market share

Foton: 8,433 units, 12.0% market share

LINXYS, Changan, Shandong REACH and BYD ranked fourth to seventh, each selling more than 3,000 units.

Their market shares were:

LINXYS: 8.8%

Changan: 6.3%

Shandong REACH: 6.1%

BYD: 4.5%

RICH, Dongfeng and SHINERAY ranked eighth to tenth, with each recording more than 2,000 units in sales.

Market Growth Expected to Continue in Second Half of 2026

China’s new energy mini truck market experienced some fluctuations earlier in 2026 but regained strong growth momentum in the second quarter.

With monthly sales exceeding 10,000 units from March to June, the market has entered a new growth phase.

Supported by continued policy incentives and increasing demand for cost-efficient urban delivery solutions, China’s new energy mini truck market is expected to maintain growth momentum in the second half of 2026.
