On August 6, 2026, Golden Dragon Bus officially unveiled its GC‑series, marking the start of its global expansion. Backed by strong product competitiveness, the brand secured on‑site orders for over 500 units at the launch event.
As a flagship high‑end bus platform, the GC‑series forms a comprehensive product matrix covering lengths from 8 to 15 meters. It includes 16 customized models for the domestic market and 10 for overseas markets, catering to diverse operational needs including passenger transport, tourism shuttles, and staff commuting. Multiple power options are available—pure electric, hybrid, diesel, and gas‑driven. The parts commonality rate has increased ninefold, delivering significant improvements in product quality and manufacturing precision.
The GC‑series has already gained international recognition. Last year, its flagship GC15 made its debut at Busworld Brussels and received high praise from global buyers. To date, it has accumulated over 100 overseas orders. The full‑range release marks the GC‑series' transition from global debut to worldwide volume delivery.
Peng Dongqing, Chairman of Golden Dragon Bus, spoke at the event. He noted that the GC‑series launch is a strategic move for Golden Dragon to capitalise on new‑quality productive forces and accelerate the intelligent, low‑carbon, and globally oriented transformation of its premium bus business.
“Benchmarked against top‑tier European industrial standards, the GC‑series has undergone systematic upgrades across underlying architecture, core technologies, and riding experience,” Peng said. “It aims to set a new benchmark for Chinese high‑end highway buses in the era of new‑quality productivity.”
Looking ahead, Golden Dragon will center its strategy on the modular GC high‑end platform, continue exploring passenger transport segments both at home and abroad, and deliver integrated mobility solutions that combine safety, energy efficiency, and intelligent comfort—further driving industrial upgrading in global passenger transport.
One Platform, Multiple Scenarios – Cutting Costs and Boosting Efficiency
“The GC‑series is a complete high‑end bus technical system that accommodates diverse global demands and enables full‑scene operation on a single unified platform,” said Zhang Gang, Director of the Technology Center at Xiamen Golden Dragon Bus Co., Ltd.
For passenger transport operators, operating costs directly impact profitability. “Our system is designed to help operators reduce expenses, minimise maintenance hassles, and maximise earnings,” Zhang added.
Guided by Golden Dragon’s core R&D philosophy—serialisation, standardisation, generalisation, and modularisation—the GC‑series achieves a parts commonality rate of 52.06%. Front and rear assemblies are fully interchangeable across the entire platform.
This architecture shortens new‑product development cycles, lowers manufacturing costs, and enables unified after‑sales spare parts supply—fundamentally helping operators lower operating costs and improve efficiency.
In terms of features, flagship models are built with full stainless‑steel frames and exterior panels for superior corrosion resistance, and achieve a drag coefficient as low as 0.365—outperforming competitors. The GC‑series also debuts the industry’s first laser‑projection headlight with rain‑fog mode, alongside a second‑generation intelligent cockpit that balances high‑tech performance with practical usability.
Zhang noted that the GC platform has been deeply optimised across four areas: lightweight body, low‑drag design, intelligent full‑coverage temperature control, and high‑efficiency powertrain. Both conventional and new‑energy models deliver significant operating cost reductions.
The fuel‑powered version consumes 2.04% less fuel than mainstream rivals. Based on an annual mileage of 200,000 kilometres, a single bus can save over 26,000 yuan in fuel costs per year—delivering substantial long‑term returns.
Strong Market Response – Over 500 Units Ordered On‑site
Thanks to its multi‑scenario adaptability and low operating costs, the GC‑series drew considerable industry attention at launch.
At the ceremony, Lai Zhiyi, General Manager of Golden Dragon Bus, signed bulk purchase agreements for more than 500 GC‑series buses with multiple transport operators, including Foshan Sanshui Lifeng Transportation Technology Co., Ltd., Huizhou Jingmin Automobile Service Co., Ltd., Tianjin Jinyihua Transport Co., Ltd., Zhangjiajie Yida Transportation Co., Ltd., Neijiang Chengfeng Express Co., Ltd., and Xiamen Nanfang Baodong Tourism Transport Co., Ltd.
Since its global premiere at last year's Busworld exhibition, the GC‑series has consistently exceeded market expectations in Europe and beyond, thanks to reliable product quality and a superior riding experience—and that recognition has translated into solid orders.
In the premium Nordic market—known for its high entry barriers—18 units GC‑series buses had already been delivered by July 2026, with nearly 40 more under production or newly ordered. Beyond Europe, the GC‑series is seeing strong business growth in Southeast Asia, the Americas, and other key global markets.
Upgraded Global Strategy – From Product Exports to Capacity Output
Golden Dragon has moved beyond simple vehicle exports to exporting technology and industrial standards. The global rollout of the GC‑series reflects this upgraded overseas strategy and its push to move up the value chain of the global bus industry.
For Golden Dragon, the GC platform provides a modular, standardised technical foundation tailored for global markets. It will reshape how the company collaborates with overseas partners—enabling joint R&D and local manufacturing based on the GC platform, combining China’s mature new‑energy technology with local market insights. The GC‑series is more than a new product line; it is the foundational platform for Golden Dragon’s global competitiveness.
The European market represents the technological high ground of the global bus industry and a proving ground for comprehensive brand strength. Taking the GC‑series launch as a new starting point, Golden Dragon will push for further breakthroughs in high‑end new‑energy bus markets in Northern and Western Europe, while expanding into the Asia‑Pacific, Middle East, Latin America, and other high‑standard markets—completing its transformation from selling buses worldwide to serving the globe with Chinese‑made technology and industrial standards.
