FAW Import & Export recently held a regional dealer conference in Panama City under the theme “Rooted in Latin America, Growing for the Long Term.”
Representatives from dealers, potential dealers and distributors in 16 Latin American and Caribbean countries, including Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Panama and Uruguay, attended the event.
The participants discussed Hongqi’s brand strategy and product plans. They also test-drove several key models and exchanged views on how Hongqi can further expand in the Latin American market and build long-term growth in the region.

Hongqi Plans to Build a Long-Term Presence in Latin America
Xiao Xiao, General Manager of FAW Import & Export, introduced the development of the Hongqi brand and the results achieved since the launch of its “New Hongqi” strategy.
He said Latin America is the second-largest core market for Chinese vehicle exports and one of the fastest-growing regions for new energy vehicles.
As the premium new energy vehicle market continues to grow, Latin America offers significant opportunities. Local market demand also fits well with Hongqi’s current product lineup.
Hongqi plans to work with local partners to build and improve its local operations and establish a long-term presence in the region.
Product Lineup and Dealer Support
The head of Hongqi’s Latin America region introduced the brand’s product lineup and dealer cooperation policies.
Hongqi presented its full range of products at the event, with a focus on models designed for the Latin American market, including the HS3 PHEV, global SUV models and E-QM5.
The detailed introduction of these models helped strengthen local partners’ confidence in Hongqi’s products.
Hongqi also introduced its dealer support policies, covering four key areas: dealer store support, spare parts supply, marketing support and profit support.
These policies show Hongqi’s plan to build a long-term presence in Latin America and develop long-term partnerships with local dealers.
Test Drives Give Dealers a Closer Look at the Products
After the conference, participants took part in test drives and group discussions.
They tested the HS3 PHEV, G117 and E-QM5 at a closed test facility. The test drives allowed them to experience the vehicles’ power, chassis performance, smart technologies and driving comfort.

After the test drives, several dealers spoke positively about the vehicle designs and performance. They also expressed confidence in the market potential of Hongqi models in their respective countries.
During the test-drive session, Hongqi representatives also held several discussions with partners from Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela and the Caribbean.
The discussions focused on local market conditions, dealer network development, the implementation of cooperation policies and local operations. The talks also helped both sides reach a better understanding of future cooperation.
1,350 Units of Potential Orders Secured
The event gave local partners a closer look at Hongqi’s brand, products and overseas support policies. They also recognized the market potential and business value of the three key models.
The event resulted in several cooperation agreements.
Potential dealers from five countries, including Suriname, Jamaica and Paraguay, signed memorandums of cooperation with Hongqi.
At the same time, several partners from the Caribbean, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Uruguay, Bolivia and the Bahamas also signed cooperation agreements.
A total of 1,350 units of potential orders were secured at the event.
Hongqi to Further Expand in Latin America
“Rooted in Latin America, Growing for the Long Term” reflects Hongqi’s long-term approach to the region.
Hongqi is not looking to simply enter the Latin American market. Instead, it plans to build a long-term presence and continue developing its local operations.
Starting from this dealer conference, Hongqi will continue to strengthen its local operations in Latin America and work with partners in different countries to expand cooperation and explore the region’s premium new energy vehicle market.
