In September 2026, FOTON sold 55,000 vehicles worldwide, including 19,000 overseas sales, up 38.9% year on year. In the first nine months of 2026, total sales reached 518,000 vehicles, up 7.9%. Overseas sales reached 169,000 vehicles, up 43.6% year on year.
Growth Across Multiple Vehicle Segments
Several FOTON brands and business units recorded strong overseas sales growth in September. Sales of AUMAN heavy-duty trucks, AUV and AUMARK trucks, AULING light trucks, AUV buses and TUNLAND vans and pickups grew by 91.6%, 52.5%, 81.8%, 94.8% and 55.7%, respectively, year on year.
FOTON offers a broad range of vehicles, from heavy-duty and light-duty trucks to buses and vans. This lineup allows the company to serve different markets and transport needs.
The 43.6% increase in overseas sales in the first nine months of 2026 shows that international markets are becoming an increasingly important source of growth for FOTON.
From Vehicle Exports to Local Operations
FOTON is also working to strengthen its overseas business through product development, technology, sales networks and after-sales service.
At IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Germany, FOTON displayed seven vehicles and six sets of self-developed core components and officially launched its Europe strategy.
The CAVAN BEACON flagship heavy-duty truck made its international debut at the show. FOTON also delivered its 13 millionth vehicle globally to a customer in Europe.
The AUV eAURORA all-electric city bus made its overseas debut and received EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA), an important step toward meeting European market requirements.
In September 2026, FOTON also signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with TÜV Rheinland. The two companies plan to work together on regulatory certification, technical compliance, intelligent driving, data security, new-energy vehicle testing and certification, and local services.
FOTON is taking similar steps in other markets. Following the launch of the GALAXUS R5 in Vietnam, the company provided designated service stations, dedicated customer contacts and a 24/7 service hotline. In Thailand, the right-hand-drive CAVAN C1 is supported by the local after-sales service network as FOTON develops its new-energy commercial vehicle business.
These efforts show that FOTON is working to provide more than vehicles to overseas customers. Sales support, parts supply and after-sales service are also becoming key parts of its international business.
Europe at the Center of FOTON's Global Strategy
FOTON's overseas expansion is closely linked to its strategy of internationalization, new-energy development and intelligent technologies.
At IAA Transportation 2026, the company set targets for new-energy vehicles to account for 50% of its sales and international business to account for 40% by 2030. Europe is a key market in this strategy.
Under its approach of "In Europe, For Europe," FOTON plans to strengthen local operations. The company plans to establish a local technology center in Europe in 2028 and gradually develop local assembly operations. These steps are intended to bring product development, production, parts supply and after-sales service closer to European customers.
FOTON currently has sales and service networks in nearly 20 European countries. It operates a regional parts distribution center in Germany and national parts warehouses in 17 countries. Its European service network includes more than 300 service locations.
Products and Services Tailored to Local Markets
FOTON is also adapting its products and services to meet different needs in Latin America and Southeast Asia.
In Latin America, key applications include mining, port operations and cross-border long-haul transport. In Southeast Asia, demand for right-hand-drive vehicles and new-energy commercial vehicles for urban delivery and long-distance transport is creating further opportunities.
Rather than using the same approach in every country, FOTON adjusts its products and services to local regulations, customer needs and operating conditions. By combining its global technology platforms with local market knowledge, the company aims to build a stronger and more sustainable overseas business.
As its technology support, certification, sales networks and after-sales services expand, FOTON is working to turn sales growth into long-term market presence and stronger local operations.
Building a Stronger Global Business
FOTON's international strategy is moving beyond vehicle exports toward a broader model that includes technology, services and local operations. With further investment in Europe and the expansion of new-energy vehicles into more overseas markets, international business is expected to remain an important driver of the company's growth.
