Ten 12-meter dual-door Higer New V Series buses stand neatly lined up, ready for delivery to Shanghai Tentwei Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Tentwei Passenger Transport). The brand-new buses will soon enter service on commuter shuttle and tourist charter routes across Shanghai. Founded in 2023, the company has expanded its fleet to over 100 units in just three years — a testament to its high-standard service capacity.

The partnership with Higer stretches back more than two decades, evolving from vehicle leasing to repeat bulk orders for the New V Series. Chen Shuai, General Manager of Tentwei Passenger Transport, first got to know Higer back in 1998, when he ran a vehicle leasing company and was stepping into the commuter transport sector. He chose Higer over other brands because of its reliable build quality. After launching Tentwei Passenger Transport in 2023, focusing on corporate commuter shuttles and tourist charters, he kept Higer (Suzhou King Long) as his top procurement choice; the brand now accounts for more than 30% of his entire fleet.
This new batch of buses was no impulsive purchase. In 2025, Tentwei bought eight Higer 12-meter single-door New V Series coaches. After a full year of real-world operation, Chen Shuai was highly impressed. Equipped with a touchscreen dashboard and integrated electrical architecture, the cabin is clean and tidy, greatly simplifying daily maintenance. Most importantly, the 12-meter model achieved fuel consumption of only around 19 litres per 100 kilometres, slashing running costs significantly.
"The operational results speak for themselves." Based on these solid cost savings, he placed another follow-up order for ten 12-meter dual-front-door New V Series coaches.
Every configuration of the ten new coaches reflects a customer-centric design philosophy.
Exterior: The dual-door version delivers a more imposing, upscale look that immediately impresses clients.
Power: Chen specifically specified a 360-horsepower engine. "With such a long body, we need ample power for all road conditions."
Interior: He opted for grey-and-orange Morandi two-tone seats. "Passengers immediately feel premium comfort the moment they step on board, with generous legroom."
The 12-meter layout with 50 seats strikes a perfect balance between cost efficiency and riding comfort. For daily commuter clients, these tangible details determine their overall travel experience — the company's top priority.
Today, Tentwei's business is evenly split between corporate commuter shuttles and tourist charters. Each vehicle operates roughly 280 days a year, nearly year-round, serving 17 well-known enterprises and institutions including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fosun Group subsidiaries and miHoYo.
Since September, short-distance tourism across the Yangtze River Delta has entered peak season. Chen has refined his capacity scheduling strategy: commuter routes maintain stable revenue and steady driver income during off-seasons, while tourist charters take priority in peak travel periods to avoid missing any business opportunities. This flexible scheduling keeps the whole fleet operating efficiently all year round.
Expanding Market Footprint
"We plan to keep scaling up our fleet size," Chen Shuai revealed. Year-on-year business growth stems from his dual-core business strategy: high-quality vehicle hardware plus professional service awareness. Attractive vehicle appearance, strict sanitation standards and well-trained drivers are the key to winning and retaining customers amid fierce market competition.
