BYD showcased its BYD and DENZA brands at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, which opened on October 12 local time. The company presented new energy vehicles and technologies, including its second-generation Blade Battery, Flash Charging and the “God’s Eye” driver assistance system, as it continues to expand its presence in Europe.
The BYD ATTO 8 made its European debut at the show. It is the first BYD model for the European market to feature the second-generation Blade Battery. The vehicle highlights the company’s latest battery technology, including improvements in safety, energy density and charging performance.
DENZA, BYD’s premium brand, displayed several models, including the BAO 5 plug-in hybrid off-road SUV and flagship sports cars from the DENZA Z series. BYD also announced plans to introduce City Navigation on Autopilot (CNOA) in Europe in 2027, with the DENZA Z9GT scheduled to feature the system. The plan marks another step in BYD’s efforts to bring its advanced driver assistance technology to the European market.
BYD also presented vehicles developed for European customers. The DOLPHIN G DM-i is a compact plug-in hybrid designed specifically for Europe, bringing BYD’s DM-i hybrid technology to the mainstream family car segment. The BYD SHARK plug-in hybrid pickup was also on display. Built on the company’s DMO off-road hybrid platform, it expands BYD’s product range into the pickup segment.
Other technologies on display included BYD’s dedicated electric vehicle platform, DM-i hybrid technology and DMO off-road hybrid platform, alongside the second-generation Blade Battery and Flash Charging. Together, these technologies support the company’s development of electric and hybrid vehicles and related energy solutions.
BYD plans to build 3,000 Flash Charging stations across Europe by the end of 2027. The company aims to expand its charging infrastructure alongside its vehicle lineup to make charging more convenient for customers and support the adoption of electric vehicles.
BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li said Flash Charging could offer charging times comparable to refueling conventional gasoline vehicles, helping address concerns about driving range and charging time. She also said the “God’s Eye” driver assistance system is designed to handle complex urban traffic conditions and improve driving safety and convenience.
BYD’s overseas business continues to grow. As of September 2026, its new energy vehicle business covered more than 120 countries and regions, with cumulative global sales exceeding 18.2 million vehicles. In the first nine months of 2026, overseas sales of BYD passenger cars and pickups exceeded 1.33 million units, surpassing its full-year overseas sales in 2025.
